Housing official found guilty

A HOUSING official was found guilty in the Richards Bay Regional Court last week on four corruption charges relating to illegal land sales.

Ntombiyenkosi Masuku was charged for illegally selling three plots of land in Brackenham for R30 000 each and another for R29 500.

According to the charge sheets, the incidents took place in Richards Bay in 2009 when Masuku held the position of Assistant Director in the Department of Human Settlements and received payments for government property.

The case was postponed to 22 August.
