New Cengeni reception now in use
Facility at Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park's Cengeni Gate commissioned after five years

VISITORS using the Cengeni Gate on the Ulundi (Western) side of the Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park will be pleased to know that, after standing unused for over five years, the new reception office was taken into use last Monday, 25 July.
The building, designed by Jeremy Steere, was built in 2010, but for various reasons, the gate controllers had to continue using the old building.
There was no shelter from the elements for guests while paying for their entry to the park.
The staff were also open to rain and cold in the small ‘hut’ which served as the control point.
Hopefully, now that the building has been commissioned, the tar access road to the gate will be cleared of the trees encroaching on the verges and the mammoth potholes will be repaired.
To get to the gate turn off the R66 (at Ulundi Airport) and travel 25km before turning left at the ZAC mining signs.
After 6km turn right and then arrive at the gate 4km on.
