Shopping mall for eNseleni
The shopping mall symbolises a direct response to addressing the issue of unemployment which is rife in this area

THERE was euphoria among eNseleni community members when the City of uMhlathuze Mayor, Mduduzi Mhlongo announced the commencement of a long awaited shopping mall project.
Mhlongo who turned the sod for the multimillion rand project said he was pleased that his municipality has delivered on its promises.
‘This shopping mall symbolises a direct response to addressing the issue of unemployment which is rife in this area.
‘We are also responding to your Integrated Development Plan (IDP). We were here listening to you, when you asked for a shopping mall to be built in this township, as a means to alleviate poverty.
‘We can assure you that the landscape, the face and the people of this township will never be the same again, as we bring you this state of the arts shopping mall,’ he said.
Mhlongo was quick to point out that the project should benefit the entire eNseleni community, and for that to happen the community must appreciate the project and protect it.
‘Our role in this project has been to identify the land and attract potential investors. We are proud to announce LST Investment as the developer for this project. They have bought the land, and they will be running this project.’
Mhlongo also praised various political parties in the area for exercising tolerance during their election campaigns.
‘We wish to commend you for showing political maturity. We know the history of this township when it comes to political tolerance. We even forgive you for coming to this government event wearing your political T-shirts. We know that many of you are busy with your election campaigns, but you still managed to find time to come and listen to your local municipality,’ he said.
Mhlongo also handed over title deeds to 50 eNseleni residents, who have been living in their houses for years without any documentation confirming ownership of their properties.
