UPDATE: Sex video teacher in court
The teacher fled after enraged community members attempted to burn down his cottage near the school
THE 45-year-old Nquthu teacher shown on video having sex with pupils at his school, will undergo an HIV test according to the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Education.
The Ekucabangeni High School pupils involved will also be given ARV treatment as a precautionary measure against HIV/Aids infection.
The teacher fled after enraged community members attempted to burn down his cottage near the school.
He appeared in the Nquthu Magistrate’s Court last Monday and was charged with two counts of sexual grooming, two of rape and one of sexual assault.
He was remanded in custody and was due to appear in the same court yesterday (Wednesday).
Department of Education MEC Mthandeni Dlungwane has confirmed that a further five teachers who allegedly also had sex with pupils, have been suspended and are being investigated.
