Top bodies sign water memorandum
'We are proud to partner with the University of Zululand'
LEADING water service provider Mhlathuze Water and the University of Zululand have cemented a partnership to further links and mutual cooperation in identified areas of collaboration.
A Memorandum Of Understanding signed last week affirmed their declaration to work in unison for the benefit of both organisations and the communities they serve.
‘We are proud to partner with the University of Zululand,’ said Mthokozisi Duze, Interim Chief Executive of Mhlathuze Water.
‘We believe this integration is a perfect fit for a mutually beneficial relationship as academic institutions are important stakeholders in our core business of supplying water and disposing of effluent.
‘Not only do they provide qualified staff for employment, but they potentially can assist in solving emerging water challenges in our business.’
The MOU includes a joint partnership in water conservation programmes, facilitating community empowerment through various poverty alleviation projects and empowerment of women and youth through training and mentorship, among others.
The event was attended by senior Unizulu academics and top management from Mhlathuze Water.
