Ndumo road (Jozini) upgrade celebrated

The 17.5km stretch which passes through the Ndumo area was upgraded from a gravel to a tarred road

KZN MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison, Mxolisi Kaunda, officially reopened the P435 road in Jozini last Thursday, following a major R141-million upgrade.

At the opening, Kaunda said his department would continue to develop road infrastructure, particularly in rural areas, to connect them with economic centres.

In an effort to fight cross-border crime, the MEC also launched the District Community Safety Forum which is composed of all government departments, including law enforcement agencies, municipalities and community crime fighting organisations.

The purpose of the forum will be to coordinate crime fighting efforts from ward to district level.
