Port of Richards Bay resumes operations
The port was forced to suspend operations on Thursday due to strong winds and heavy rains.

The Port of Richards Bay has this morning (Saturday) resumed its operations.
This after it was forced to suspend operations on Thursday due to strong winds and heavy rains.
Wind speeds reaching 42 knots caused high sea swells of seven metres, impacting port activities.
‘In such conditions, there was poor visibility, which is critical to navigation.
‘The port remains committed to real-time safety and efficient service to our customers.
‘However, we must acknowledge that as part of this process, the safety of all port users and employees remains critical to Transnet National Ports Authority,’ said Harbour Master, Gugu Dube.
