The bigger baits have brought in the bigger fish, so ensure to get some mackerel, bonito and wall-walla before heading out.
Make sure all tackle is up to standard, to avoid disappointment.
As stated in previous fishing reports, these fish are not dumb, so make an extra effort to rig the bait correctly and ensure they swim and do not spin.
Snoek have also been bagged in the early mornings around the river mouths.
Fillet baits have proved irresistible, but smaller-lipped lures have also worked.
Rock and surf anglers have been blessed with a number of edible fish along the upper north coast region.
Reports include queenfish, kingfish, jobfish and a host of other strong reef fish.
Spinning with artificial lures has been very productive over the reefs.
Those preferring a bait-and-wait approach have seen a good number of fish as well.
There have also been some inedibles caught, with most being the odd grey shark and some bigger flatfish.
