WATCH: One person critical, 14 others injured in John Ross accident

The taxi was reportedly travelling from Richards Bay to KwaDlangezwa when it rolled down a 4-5 metre embankment at around 7pm

One person is in a critical condition and 14 others have sustained minor injuries after a minibus rolled down an embankment on the John Ross Highway near the Mondi robots in Richards Bay on Friday night.

All emergency services were on scene working tirelessly in difficult terrain to rescue three patients, who were entrapped as well as treating multiple casualties on scene.

The taxi was reportedly travelling from Richards Bay to KwaDlangezwa when it rolled down a 4-5 metre embankment at around 7pm.

By 8.30pm, the accident scene was still busy as emergency personnel continued to treat injured patients. Some occupants of the taxi were able to walk up the embankment on their own.
