King Cetshwayo vote counting under way

King Cetshwayo district has expressed disappointment in voter turnout on election day

While counting and capturing of votes is underway nationally, the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) in the King Cetshwayo district has expressed disappointment in voter turnout on election day.

The IEC in the district had on Monday recorded an average turnout of about 40%.

‘The turnout was very poor, but overall voting day went well. There were initial delays but we are happy with the process overall, and are capturing the results at present,’ said King Cetshwayo IEC regional manager Stella Dlamini.

She apologised for any delays and connectivity issues experienced at some voting stations which affected proceedings.
