Police clamp down on crime in Mtubatuba
Eight people were arrested for possession of dagga or drugs, four for drinking in public and three for illegal gambling
Umkhanyakude police arrested 15 suspects during roadblock and patrol operations in the Mtubatuba area last Friday.
Police spokesperson, Captain Justice Hlabisa, said eight people were arrested for possession of dagga or drugs, four for drinking in public and three for illegal gambling.
The operation was led by district cluster commander, Major-General Langa, with all local station commanders.
Those arrested appeared in the Mtubatuba Magistrate’s Court on Monday and were released on bail.
Some were released with a warning.
