Two killed in Maguzulu collision

TWO people died and three were seriously injured when a bakkie they were traveling in collided with a truck at the Maguzulu intersection outside Empangeni on Wednesday night.

Reports from the scene indicate the bakkie was travelling from Macekane area while the truck was heading along the R34 towards Empangeni when the accident occurred.

The truck subsequently veered off the road and overturned owing to the impact of the collision. The bakkie had five occupants including the driver, who was declared dead at the scene together with one of his passengers.

Three passengers were rushed to hospital with one of them in a critical condition. Two occupants from a truck were treated and taken to hospital for further observation.
