Municipal bills paid at SA Post Office

No cellphone banking? The Post Office can help

The SA Post Office now facilitates the payment of municipal bills at its branches nationwide, for all municipal accounts upon which the SA Post Office logo appears.

This will allow holidaymakers to pay utility bills, even if they don’t have cellphone banking.

Once paid, the customer leaves with a valid receipt for payment of the account, and the account status at the relevant municipality is updated the next business day.

Should a motorist receive a traffic fine with the post office logo on it, the fine can also be paid at any branch of the SA Post Office.

Cards and cash are accepted for the payment of all accounts. Some municipalities, such as Nelson Mandela Bay, allow only debit cards and not credit cards.

Most branches of the SA Post Office have a separate queue for customers who are there to collect their R350 SASSA SRD grant to minimise queuing time.
