A 31-YEAR-OLD murder suspect made his first court appearance at the Empangeni Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
The accused was arrested for killing Cebile Linda (36) of Nozambula Reserve in the KwaMbonambi policing area after handing himself in to police.
He was remanded in police custody pending the investigation.
Police spokesperson, Captain Nkosingiphile Mthetwha, alleges that Linda was assaulted with sticks after a short argument.
‘She sustained several wounds all over the body. The accused is expected to appear at the same court next week Tuesday for a formal bail application,’ she said.
