Something new and fresh is coming in March!
Umqhele will cater to the large isiZulu readership from the first quarter of 2022

Launching in March 2022, isiZulu sold publication Umqhele will roll off the printing presses at Empangeni, for weekly distribution from Stanger to Pongola.
To better serve the Zululand region and, heeding the call for the return of an isiZulu newspaper, the Level 2 BEE-compliant Umqhele will cater to the large isiZulu readership from the first quarter of 2022.
Thobile Sibiya is the majority shareholder and managing director of Umqhele. Thobile first started in the newspaper industry nearly 20 years ago, and boasts vast experience in the field of sales and marketing.

‘Our community is the heartbeat of Umqhele and with journalists living in the communities we report on, we will champion many a cause and document the growth and highlights within our region. Content will also be guided by the valued input we receive from readers and clients and our doors are always open for dialogue,’ said Sibiya.
‘Being able to evolve with the changing times through a multi-media approach, while still remaining relevant within our communities is our aim; to ensure continuous product innovation and increased footprint. Umqhele is something new and fresh for the community, by the community and in our community,’ Sibiya said.
