The South African National Census of 2022 is well under way.

Residents of the City of uMhlathuze are urged to take note of the following dates and activities relating to Census 2022. Residents, who do not want to be interviewed in person, can complete the online questionnaire by following this link: https://getcounted.statssa.gov.za.

Once completed, census fieldworkers will only collect the verification code from residents.

All homeless persons, truck drivers and persons within the port area were interviewed on 2 February at 10pm. Fieldworkers were on the ground at greenbelt areas, where the homeless reside.

Twenty seven fieldworkers will be working in Arboretum with proper identification and verification methods, to ensure safety of residents.

Census 2022 is performed by Statistics South Africa. Stats SA is mandated by the Statistics Act (Act NO. 6 of 1999) to collect data for official statistics and to conduct a census. Data collected remains confidential. For more information visit https://census.statssa.gov.za/
