Richards Bay surf compo with a message

The Alkantstrand memorial surfing compo will be held this Saturday morning, combining fun with a serious message.

While a special plaque will be erected in memory and honour of the many surfers who have passed away over the years, the event is planned to be uplifting and exciting.

The surfing contest is free and open to all, with lots of prizes and giveaways.

Registration for surfers is at 7am, followed by the memorial at 9am, wreath-laying, opening of the new deck and mass paddle-out.
