Head-on collision on the N2

Two occupants in the bakkie sustained minor injuries and were taken to medical facilities for treatment

A bakkie and an SUV were on Thursday morning involved in a head-on collision on the N2.

The accident occurred at about 10.30am near the eNseleni bridge.

Two occupants in the bakkie sustained minor injuries and were taken to medical facilities for treatment; one to Nseleni Clinic and one to Melomed Richards Bay.

The third bakkie occupant was treated on scene and did not require further medical care.

Two occupants of the SUV sustained moderate injuries, including ankle and knee injuries, and were taken to Life Empangeni Private Hospital.

The driver of the bakkie, who did not want to be named, blamed the accident on the ‘confusing road signs’ along that section of the N2 which is undergoing roadworks.
