Tips for manual car drivers
• Plan your trips and avoid rush hour where you can
• Make an errand-run a single trip, cold engines use more fuel to heat up
• When travelling in peak rush hour, keep your speed steady instead of abrupt braking, as this causes the car to drag, thus using more fuel
• Keep a safe following distance
• Use higher gears as they use less fuel
• Always check your tyre pressure
• Change your filters when needed

Tips for automatic car drivers
• Automatic vehicles tend to travel at lower gears for longer distances and periods. Try to get the transmission to change gears by completely removing your foot from the accelerator at 50km/h, then slowly pressing the accelerator again
• Avoid slamming on brakes, and always travel at a steady speed
• Make fewer trips; the less you travel, the more you save
• Make sure the vehicle is serviced and in good condition at all times
• Always use tyres that are in good condition
