Umfolozi Municipality’s ward 14 scooped bronze for the most functional war room at the recent Premier’s Service Excellence Awards.
A war room is an intergovernmental and multi-stakeholder forum aimed at improving service delivery and making cross-sectoral interventions.
Ward 14 has maintained an excellent track record after winning gold in both 2018 and 2020.
The ward outshone most of the participating 54 municipalities and 901 wards from across the province.
The purpose of the Premier’s Service Excellence Awards is to foster a culture of continuous service delivery improvement in the province.
The awards recognise those public servants who put citizens first in everything they do and uphold their dignity through the implementation of Batho Pele principles.
