Salga president congratulates new provincial leadership

SALGA elects new leadership for the next five-year term

The South African Local Government Association (Salga) held its provincial conference at uMhlathuze Civic Centre on Friday, where new leadership was elected for the next five-year term.

Salga president Cllr Bheke Stofile, deputy president Cllr Flora Maboa-Boltman and NEC members led conference proceedings.

Stofile congratulated the new leadership and wished them well in the execution of their duties. Newly-elected KZN Salga chairperson – and current King Cetshwayo district mayor, Thami Ntuli, said: ‘I am truly humbled by the confidence this conference has shown in me and the leadership that has been elected to carry forward the good work being done by the sector.’

The new Salga leadership:

Chairperson: Cllr Thami Ntuli

Deputy chairperson: Cllr Ntombifuthi Gumede (IFP eThekwini Cllr)

Second deputy chairperson: Cllr Xolani Dube (Newcastle local municipality mayor)

Third deputy chairperson: Cllr Velephi Sikhosana (uPhongolo local municipality)
