She left her house at Slovo township in KwaMbonambi and was believed to be heading to KwaMthethwa reserve to visit her children.

She reportedly left her boyfriend – known as Mr Mlungwana – behind sleeping and made her way to the bus stop.

More than a week later, one of Sibiya’s children went to visit her home at Slovo township, worried that the family had not heard from her.

The boyfriend told the child that Sibiya left him and went to KwaMthethwa. None of her relatives and friends have seen her or heard from her since, and she had not mentioned to her family that she was going to the KwaMthethwa area.

Anyone with information of Bonakele Sibiya’s whereabouts is urged to contact Detective Constable Bandile Cele on 065 9917712 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
