Roads clear as port terminals reduces truck backlog
Update on the Port terminal truck backlog
The John Ross Highway was clear this (Sunday) morning as Transnet Port Terminals (TPT) in Richards Bay works to offload trucks which had been queueing on the road since Friday.
The truck traffic which was backed up along Medway Road and the John Ross highway was caused by a labour dispute at the port where employees downed tools over unpaid incentive bonuses.
The dispute has reportedly been resolved and employees are said to have returned to duty.
