Five arrested on the N2 near Mtubatuba for possession of dagga

Six parcels of dagga recovered during the arrest

Five men were last Thursday arrested by KwaMsane police for possession of dagga.

The arrests took place shortly after midnight on the N2 between Mfekayi and KwaMsane.

KwaMsane Saps spokesperson Captain Sibusiso Mkhize said the five had been travelling in a vehicle which was stopped and searched by the police during routine patrols.

‘The police recovered six parcels of dagga and arrested five males for possession of dagga,’ Mkhize said.

Meanwhile, six illegal immigrants were arrested on the same day in a separate incident during a roadblock held by Mtubatuba Municipality together with Saps and the Road Traffic Inspectorate.

The aim of the roadblock was to raise road safety awareness.

The illegal immigrants were from Lesotho and Mozambique.
