Are you young at heart or do you see the world ‘as it is’?

‘They’ say this optical illusion will determine into which category you fall, so why not try it out and see for yourself?

From trying to determine whether a dress is blue or grey, or whether a pair of running shoes is pink or green, there are many optical illusions out there, all claiming to reveal how your mind works.

But, according to this one, whether you first see a young girl or an old man will determine if you are still a child at heart, seeing the world throughout innocent, child-like eyes, or if the world has ground you down.

So what catches your attention first? A young girl looking to the left or an old man looking to the right?
If you saw the girl first, you’re apparently a child at heart and, despite your experiences, trials and tribulations, you have held on to your innocence.

Meanwhile, if you noticed the old man first, you are mature in your thoughts and have grown from your experiences and knowledge.

You have grown as a wise soul, and are calm and humble.

What is an optical illusion?
This is something that deceives the eye by appearing to be something other than what it is.

Optical illusions can use colour, light and patterns to create images deceptive to, or misleading for, our brain.

Information gathered by the eye is processed by the brain, creating a perception that does not exist.

There are physical, physiological, and cognitive illusions, with ambiguities, distortions, paradoxes and fictions in each class.

Optical illusions can be used in the monitoring and rehabilitation of some psychological disorders, including phantom limb syndrome.
