Realising what was happening, he quickly pulled off the roadway and unhooked the horse from the trailer.

‘As I was travelling, I heard a loud bang from the back and very soon I saw a fire from one of the tyres,’ said Duma.

‘Drivers passing by assisted me in unhooking the head of the truck and we tried to extinguish the fire until firefighters arrived on scene.’

City of uMhlathuze and King Cetshwayo District Municipality fire departments were promptly on scene.
There was no major obstruction to traffic flow.
