One critical after N2 smash

The three-vehicle pile-up occurred just after 1.30pm and caused the closure of the N2 southbound

ONE person sustained critical injuries in a three-vehicle collision on the N2 near eNseleni earlier this afternoon (Tuesday).

The accident occurred just after 1.30pm in the vicinity of roadworks which have been ongoing for some time.

Mounties EMS arrived promptly on scene to find one patient entrapped in one of the vehicles, and a further two patients who had sustained less serious injuries.

The accident caused the closure of the southbound lane of the N2, resulting in a heavy build-up of traffic as authorities worked to treat the injured and clear the scene.

Once stabilised on scene, the patients were transported to hospital for further medical care.
