Serious accident brings N2 traffic to standstill

The collision occurred early Tuesday morning

The N2 at the uMhlali river bridge diversion was brought to a standstill this morning (Tuesday) after an accident occurred in the early hours.

IPSS Medical Rescue responded to the scene on the southbound carriageway, in which it was reported that a truck and light motor vehicle had collided.

Seven people sustained injuries ranging from minor to serious.

They were treated on scene by IPSS paramedics before being transported to a nearby medical facility for further care.

Road Traffic Inspectorate and Saps members were on scene and motorists were being diverted off the N2 onto the R102 at Tinley Manor.
