WATCH: Two trucks and bakkie collide on John Ross highway

Jaws of life used to extract entrapped driver

Three people – two truck drivers and a bakkie driver – were lucky to survive a collision at the Eco Junction on the John Ross highway this afternoon (Wednesday).

According to the driver of the bakkie, who was travelling from Richards Bay to Empangeni, one of the trucks, which was heading towards Richards Bay, lost control, crossed the centre median and into oncoming traffic.

Unconfirmed reports from the scene indicated the truck suffered a blow out prior to the driver losing control.
No fatalities were reported.
