Fives Services Mzansi believes this partnership could change lives and influence the engineering industry in the long term
LOCAL mountain-biking champion John Ntuli is ready to take on the 2022 Munga race with the backing and unwavering support of Fives Services Mzansi Richards Bay.
The French engineering company believes in performance, risk and hazard management, resilience and determination and, according to the group, Ntuli is a true representation of that.
Dubbed the toughest race on earth, the 1 070km Bloemfontein to Wellington race comprised of fierce competition, incredibly tough conditions, and a distance that is not for the faint-hearted. Despite all this, Ntuli emerged victorious in 2015, finishing in a staggering 69 hours and 10 minutes, and squeezing in just two-and-a-half hours’ sleep. “My hands, my arms and my entire body were so sore! With about 270km to go, I seriously thought about pulling out because I was suffering from such pain and exhaustion, but eventually, I told myself that everyone else was going through the same pain as I was, so I just had to keep going,” reminisced Ntuli.
