THE purpose of this expression of interest (EOI) is to solicit company profiles from interested parties who wish to participate in this tender for harvesting, silviculture and transport operations located with Mondi Forestry Plantations across various areas within the northern KZN and Mpumalanga regions.

The areas that will be included in the tender will be as per the below table:

• The primary activities that are conducted on the above operational areas are mechanical harvesting, silviculture activities: establishment, maintenance (including fire protection) and conservation work. Transport is subject to the tender document.
• The volumes and packages linked to the tender will be issued after the shortlisting of the expression of interest.
• This expression of interest is only to gather company profiles and shortlist according to the below criteria.
• The contract period is estimated between 3 and 5 years.

Companies that wish to be added to the database for further communication should conform with the below request for information. Should you fail to meet the minimum requirements outlined below, it could lead to your company profile being excluded for further participation.

General Criteria:

• A company profile which displays a proven track record within forestry on a commercial scale.
• An indication of the areas and activities you would like to be included for the tender process.
• Safety statistics/plan, including COID certification.
• Letter from the accounting officer on financial stability / previous year’s financial statement.
• BBBEE status / certificate / affidavit (preferably minimum Level 3 BEE contributor).
• SARS tax clearance certificate.
• Contactable references or reference letter.
• Contact name, email address and telephone number for the person that must receive communication for tender.

Interested parties may apply by submitting their company profiles, indicating which package preference they would be interested in participating. Submissions must be addressed or directed to The Tender Coordinator via email only to forestry.tenders@mondigroup.com.
The closing date for the submission of expressions of interest is Tuesday, 13 September 2022 (12h00).

Note: After pre-qualification, successful companies will receive the formal tender documents outlining the specific packages and related volumes for those packages to submit a comprehensive tender proposal.
