A quality brand from the start
Family-run business, Mac’s Fish and Chips was established in 1994 by Billy and Roslyne McCarthy through Billy’s belief that he could create unique recipes and make food that people love to eat.
Five years later Mac’s was so highly sought-after that the business expanded from its Lakeside Mall premises to opening a branch in Empangeni in 1999.
Two short years later, a third branch opened, in Essenwood in 2001, with a fourth branch in Meerensee in 2012.
The brand’s fifth outlet is located in the Tiffany’s Centre in Salt Rock, owned by the son of the founders, Mark McCarthy and wife Courtney McCarthy.
The business has been operating for over 25 years and has made its mark by establishing strong relationships with customers and suppliers.
Mac’s dedicated staff members have played a pivotal role in its existence. Most employees have been part of the Mac’s Fish and Chips family for over 20 years, progressing from employee to management – a distinctive competency that not all businesses have.
