Melomed Private Hospital Richards Bay celebrates International Nurses Day 2025
Melomed Richards Bay remains deeply grateful for the essential contributions of our nurses — today and every day
On 12 May 2025, Melomed Private Hospital Richards Bay proudly commemorated International Nurses Day, paying tribute to the compassion, dedication, and invaluable role that nurses play in delivering quality patient care.
The day was marked with heartfelt gratitude, thoughtful gifts, and a special celebratory lunch to honour our exceptional nursing team for their tireless efforts and unwavering commitment.
Special guest Rob Bentele, winner of Survivor South Africa, inspired the staff with his powerful story of resilience and achievement. Retired nurse Sr Christene Samuels delivered a moving reflection on the lifelong calling of nursing, while Sr Makhosi Mchunu shared a heartfelt message of encouragement to her fellow nurses. Dr Nkayane, Specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, also took the opportunity to acknowledge the nursing team as the very backbone of patient care.
A special message from Hospital Manager Mr Randal Pedro captured the spirit of the day:
“We would like to take this opportunity to celebrate the nurses who care for us, our friends, families, and loved ones. We extend our sincerest appreciation to all nursing practitioners, and especially those in our employ, on this International Nurses Day.
“Your hard work, dedication, compassion, and kindness do not go unnoticed. We salute and thank you for your unselfish acts of human kindness and your unwavering service to humanity. Happy Nurses Day.”
