Foskor Sulphuric Acid ‘C’ plant start-up

The planned start-up date for Foskor's Plant C is 17 July 2025

The Sulphuric C Plant went on an emergency stoppage which commenced on the 27th of June 2025. The gas heat-up process will begin on the 17th of July 2025 with the transition to sulphur production expected on the 24th of July 2025.

A visible plume of water vapour might be evident, which is a byproduct of the Sasol gas burning process indicating plant readiness for the sulphur change over.

Consultation with local authorities will be undertaken prior to the start-up. Key factors such as wind direction and other meteorological conditions and the time of day will be considered to minimise any potential public inconvenience. Should there be any changes to the heat-up process that affect the start-up date, these will be communicated accordingly.
