Foskor CSI creates lasting impact in local communities

Foskor Richards Bay held their CSI handover last Thursday, proving their commitment to making a positive impact on the community they are part of.

“You are our community, you are our family.”

These were the words spoken by Foskor Divisional HR manager Bongekile Sithole when addressing beneficiaries at Foskor Richards Bay’s CSI handover on Thursday.

Following an address from Foskor Acid Division’s acting GM Musa Xulu and GM for maintenance and projects Mdumiseni Maphumulo, Foskor Superintendent CSI Thembile Jobe spoke on the purpose of the handover – highlighting the process of donations and sponsorships.

As ‘enablers of food security in South Africa and across the globe’, Foskor partners with Ithuba Agriculture to improve agricultural education and community development.

As one of the beneficiaries, Ithuba Agribusiness founder Thabani Ngubane introduced some of the recipient schools that would be benefitting from this handover.

The rest of the handovers were then announced, as follows:

  • SAPS Richards Bay received branded banners, tablecloths, and a certifier stamp
  • Madlankala Football Club received branded soccer kits and equipment
  • Live Fantasies Foundation received a gas stove and gas cylinder, JoJo tank, kids’ chairs, and more
  • Eagles Wings Shelter received an iron, kettle, three-piece kitchen unit, refrigerator, electric stove, and microwave
  • Thembifundo Special School received an industrial gas stove, 50-litre pots, and gas cylinders
  • Ithuba Agribusiness received wheelbarrows, garden racks, JoJo tanks, PPE and seedlings
  • K9 Empangeni Football Club received soccer equipment

“We look forward to continuing our journey to creating a lasting impact together,” said Foskor CSI administrator Nomfundo Kubheka in closing. “Let’s keep working hand-in-hand to make a difference in our communities.”
