Melomed Richards Bay strengthens regional healthcare collaboration through surgical CPD engagement

Melomed Richards Bay hosted a Surgical Update CPD Breakfast Session in eShowe, forming part of their commitment to advancing healthcare and strengthening relationships with referring doctors across northern KZN.

Melomed Richards Bay recently hosted a successful Surgical Update Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Breakfast Session at the Aloe Lifestyle Hotel in eShowe, bringing together general practitioners and healthcare professionals from the town and surrounding areas for an informative and collaborative medical engagement.

The event formed part of Melomed Richards Bay’s ongoing commitment to advancing healthcare excellence and strengthening relationships with referring doctors across northern KwaZulu-Natal. By creating platforms for clinical knowledge sharing, the hospital continues to support medical practitioners with access to specialist expertise and the latest developments in surgical care.

The session was led by resident specialist surgeons, Dr Mngoma and Dr Mapunda, who presented key surgical insights and practical guidance on patient management and referral pathways. The presentations also encouraged open dialogue with attending doctors, creating an environment where practitioners could share experiences, discuss clinical challenges, and explore collaborative approaches to improving patient outcomes.

Speaking about the initiative, Melomed Richards Bay emphasised the importance of continued engagement between specialists and primary care providers in strengthening the regional healthcare network.
