The two, 19-year-old Bandile Simphiwe Dube and a 16-year-old minor, face one charge of murder and another of attempted murder.

This after the fatal stabbing of 18-year-old Khumbulani Mgabhi and his 17-year-old childhood friend who was hospitalised and discharged a few days later.

On the day of the stabbing, Khumbulani succumbed to a stab wound to the neck.

He was laid to rest on Sunday, 24 July.

It is alleged that the stabbings were a result of suspected bullying after one of the accused had reportedly instructed each victim individually to polish his shoes; a request which was rejected.

Classes were suspended following the stabbings, with pupils and staff given the opportunity of counselling last week.

School was scheduled to resume this Monday (1 August).
