Pupils treated after contaminated food incident in Ging

Witnesses said none of the learners suffered severe injury or excessive pain.

EMERGENCY services rushed to a school in Gingindlovu near the R102 on Thursday, where more than 30 students suffered an alleged food poisoning incident.

Thirty-two pupils from Emoyeni High School were reportedly treated for abdominal pains and nausea, after eating what is believed to be contaminated packets of chips and snacks.

Witnesses said none of the learners suffered severe injury or excessive pain.

While seven were declared stable and well enough to be sent home after being checked, another 25 pupils were transported by ambulance for further assessment at a medical facility.
