Police thwart dagga delivery after high-speed chase
Dagga recovered from abandoned vehicle, suspects fled
ESHOWE SAPS on Saturday recovered a haul of dagga with an estimated street value of R1.2-million.
It is alleged that police received a tip-off about two vehicles transporting dagga.King Cetshwayo Cluster police spokesperson Captain Siyanda Shangase said while the members were patrolling along the R66 near Siza filling station, they spotted the two vehicles and tried flagging them down.

The vehicles speed away and a chase ensued.
“Officers immediately contacted Gingindlovu SAPS detectives for back-up. The suspects passed Gingindlovu during the chase and one vehicle with a load of dagga was found abandoned at the Dokodweni area,” said Shangase.
He said preliminary investigations revealed the suspects had come from Piet Retief and were heading to Durban.
“The recovered dagga weighed 346.6kg and its estimated street value is R1.2-million,” he said.
