Mental illness can devour a person from the inside

Paying attention to, and realising the importance of mental health is crucial.

If not properly treated, mental illness can devour a person from the inside out.

With this in mind, May is Mental Health Awareness Month around the world, having first been observed in the USA in 1949 to increase the awareness of mental health and to celebrate people recovering from mental illness.

Here are some tips to boost your mental health:

1. Exercise for 30 minutes every day

2. Eat healthy foods

3. Stay hydrated (water)

4. Eat brain-boosting foods like salmon, blueberries and dark chocolate

5. Take memory/brain supplements
