WATCH: The king risks his reign, says Prince Buthelezi

Prince Buthelezi was briefing the media and Amakhosi in Empangeni on pertinent issues, including the Ingonyama Trust Board

The king would rather risk his reign than change his decision on the chairmanship of the Ingonyama Trust Board.

These were the stern words of Prime Minister of the Zulu nation and monarch, Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi during a meeting with Amakhosi at Imbizo Hall in Empangeni on Friday morning.

Prince Buthelezi was briefing the media and Amakhosi on pertinent issues, including the Ingonyama Trust Board.

“The king, in his letter to me on 17 May, indicated that he would rather forgo my affidavit in the case brought by Prince Simakade and Prince Mbonisi despite the fact that his legal team had warned that the case would likely fail without my affidavit,” said Buthelezi.

This in relation to the pending court case over the royal throne.
