Vehicle hijacked in KwaDukuza found abandoned outside school, no arrest made
A vehicle that was hijacked in KwaDukuza last week was on Friday found abandoned near Nsikeni Primary School on Friday.
The vehicle had been reported stolen at KwaDukuza SAPS on Sunday, 8 September.
According to iLembe Cluster police spokesperson Captain Alex Thomson, the Toyota Conquest had been hijacked in Lindelani, within the KwaDukuza policing precinct.
“On Friday, members from Glendale SAPS were conducting a stop-and-search operation when they noticed a suspicious motor vehicle with no number plate abandoned near Nsikeni Primary School.
“There was no key and the driver was nowhere to be found. The officers immediately grew suspicious and circulated the vehicle information, which positively identified it as stolen, linked to a KwaDukuza SAPS case,” said Thomson.
He added that the vehicle was towed to Glendale SAPS, and a police investigation is under way. No arrest has yet been made.
