Repairs continue on N2 bridges, road closures expected
Motorists should expect delays owing to temporary road closures as a result of N2 bridge repairs
Infrastructure maintenance continues on the Pongola and Nseleni river bridges on the N2 this week.
Motorists travelling on the route from today (Tuesday) until Saturday should expect delays owing to temporary road closures as a result of the bridge repairs.
The South African National Road Agency SOC Limited (Sanral) said various activities including line marking, removal of barriers and bridge joint repairs are being undertaken.
“As part of the casting of concrete parapet process (building the concrete barrier on the bridge), temporary lane closures with stop-and-go control will be implemented,” said Sanral’s Eastern Region project manager, Serisha Sukraj.
“We further appeal to road users to adhere to the road signs and speed limit when approaching and travelling through the construction site.”
Pongola River bridge closures:
17 September (northbound) from 9am to 2pm
18 September (southbound) from 9am to 2pm
Nseleni River bridge closures:
21 September (southbound) from 9am to 2pm
