Sassa October increases and payment dates

As per Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana’s budget speech earlier this year, October marks the second and final increase in Sassa grant payments for the year, and will come into effect on 1 October.

While not all Sassa beneficiaries will enjoy an increase to their grant this year, the Zululand Observer explains who can look forward to what increases next week.

Old Age, War Veterans, Disability and Care Dependence grants rose by R90 in April this year, and will increase by a further R10 next month.

The Foster Care and Child Support grants went up by R50 and R20 respectively in April, but will not increase in October.

Come pay day next week, pensioners will be first in line, with pay outs on Wednesday, 2 October; Disability Grants will follow on Thursday, 3 October; while Child Support, Foster Care and Care Dependency beneficiaries will be paid on Friday, 4 October.
