SAPS hosts anti-abuse education session

eSikhaleni Social Crime Prevention unit engages community on Gender Based Violence

With abuse against women and children continuing to plague society, police officers in partnership with NPOs and stakeholders are educated Zululand communities as part of the 16 Days of Activism campaign.

The eSikhaleni Social Crime Prevention unit addressed more than 150 people of Ward 21 on GBV, fraud, the implications of possessing illegal firearms, and the importance of reporting crimes.

In a separate meeting, Gingindlovu SAPS, Gingindlovu Social Crime Prevention, and Mtunzini Social Crime Prevention held a community engagement with more than 120 people to address these issues.

Following suit, the police officers of eShowe SAPS and stakeholders took to the streets for a march.
Before taking to the streets, district chaplain Captain Gwala opened in prayer, followed by words of support from Vispol commander Lieutenant Colonel Mncwango and Mr Nyawo of Community Safety and Liaison.

The march set off from the police station and finished at the Atrium Mall.

The Dondotha sport grounds were the venue for King Cetshwayo District’s KwaMbonambi Social Crime Prevention to address the community on 16 Days of Activism, which culminated this week.
