Police warn of new criminal scam

SAPS warns of new 'hitman' crime trending across King Cetshwayo District

The police in King Cetshwayo District have warned the public to guard against a new trending scam whereby criminals contact people, purporting to be hitmen sent to take them out.

According to King Cetshwayo Cluster police spokesperson Captain Siyanda Shangase, the perpetrators contact their victims with information about their whole life, and tell them they have been paid to kill them for a fee.

They ask their victims to pay a certain amount to halt the hit.

Shangase urged residents to be vigilant and report such incidents to their nearest police station or call 10111 should they become a victim of this scamming syndicate.
