King organises support for troubled Ithala Bank

King Misuzulu kaZwelithini has joined the fight to save the beleaguered Ithala bank

Viewing Ithala Bank as an indispensable structure of the Zulu kingdom – carrying historical, cultural and economic significance – King Misuzulu kaZwelithini has joined the fight against its impending liquidation.

He has instructed Cogta MEC Reverend Thulasizwe Buthelezi to lead a delegation of senior royal family members and amaKhosi to support Premier Thami Ntuli in his government’s efforts to save the beleaguered bank.

The king further tasked this delegation to engage with national government to underscore Ithala Bank’s unique role in sustaining the livelihood of hundreds of thousands of his subjects in KZN.

AmaKhosi of KZN stand to lose R34-million held in Ithala Bank in their traditional levies trust account if this matter is not resolved.
