Residents continue to ‘show us the dirt’
City of uMhlathuze residents continue to raise concerns over uncollected refuse and overflowing skips

Filth is overflowing on the streets of Zululand, but through the ‘Tell us where the dirt is’ call-to-action anti-litter campaign, change is afoot.
While many towns and villages across the region are still affected by litter, more and more residents are joining the programme to clean up their communities.
Concerned residents who want change are identifying litter-strewn areas and working with the ZO to expose it.
The main purpose of the ‘Tell us where the dirt is’ campaign is for residents to band together and conduct clean-up drives in their areas.
In eSikhaleni, residents have declared that uncollected, overflowing skips are the main problem, resulting in the dumping of rubbish on the ground, creating more illegal dumping sites.
This week, more refuse and overflowing skips have been identified on the Ndlebentshona Road, while uMthungulu Street is riddled with illegal dumping sites.
Dube Village, Madaka and other areas are also suffering from litter as a result of uncollected refuse skips.
