Birthday spoils for animals at Hluhluwe Paws and Claws

Gemma Vardy did not accept any presents for her birthday but requested donations for the Hluhluwe Paws and Claws

While most preteens would ask for a lavish party in celebration of their 11th birthday, Gemma Vardy’s heart was set on helping animals.

Refusing to accept any presents for her birthday on 12 April, she requested that friends and family donate money to Hluhluwe Paws and Claws.

Passionate about the well-being of animals, Gemma has travelled with the organisation for its cat sterilisation programme.

After witnessing the team’s dedication, her selfless gesture was to let them know of the astronomical impact they had made in her life.

Honouring her wishes, together with her loved ones, Gemma raised a remarkable R1 500 for the non-profit.
