Linzwa Foundation launches Teens with Purpose campaign in uMhlathuze

Linzwa Foundation’s Teens with Purpose campaign tackles teen pregnancy, GBV, HIV, and entrepreneurship in uMhlathuze schools.

Empowering teens through collaboration is the NPO Linzwa Foundation, which recently partnered with the Riot Mkhwanazi Trust, KwaMkhwanazi Tribal Authority, Khandisa Clinic and SAPS to launch the Teens with Purpose campaign.

This interactive and enriching initiative is designed to educate the teenagers of uMhlathuze. Hitting the ground running, the programme recently empowered learners of Mbuyiseni Secondary School in KwaDlangezwa, who were excited to be part of this positive venture.

With several social and economic issues plaguing society, the Linzwa Foundation and its partners aim to:

• Tackle pressing social issues affecting the youth, including teenage pregnancy, gender-based violence (GBV), HIV/Aids and entrepreneurship

• Equip teenagers with the knowledge, confidence and resilience to navigate social pressures

• Inspire young people to become job creators rather than job seekers

This goal is set to be achieved through school tours, where learners will be equipped with vital information and skills to assist them in making informed decisions about their futures.

While this programme gears up to become a tool in combatting youth social issues, it counts on the support of parents, teachers and community leaders to help nurture the changemakers of tomorrow.
